We started July off with Julia making a HUGE change to her hair!!
She had been talking to me for a while about wanting to chop off her hair.
We had to wait until her ballet recital was over so she'd have enough for a bun!
The morning of July 2nd, we got ready to leave to the salon,
and just for kicks, we measured her hair to see if she'd have enough to donate
to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths for wigs for Cancer patients.
SHE HAD ENOUGH!!!
We were both so excited!
Ashley let us record and take pics of the process!
I cannot believe how much it made her grow up to cut 10 inches off!
Her hair had to be in a braid to send in to the company.
We put it in a padded envelope and sent it off!
They have since sent her a letter thanking her!
That was so fun to do!
And.....she looks adorable, I must say!
Proud of you sis!
The 4th of July is always a day we look forward to!
We found someone putting off some awesome fireworks down at the park
by the fire station so we drove our trucks down there and parked at the church across
the street and had an awesome fire works show right in front of us!
Then we came home and
slept out in our trucks the night before on the 3rd!
Ty was in the West Point Parade again with the Football team,
so we took the kids over to support him!
Afterwards, we did some things around the house before meeting my family
over at the park in Kaysville for dinner and games, like we always do.
We had fun playing basketball, swinging and then finished with a family game of baseball
before heading over to the fireworks.
Garrett was with Aspenn and her family this year......we missed having him.
The Davis High Fireworks were moved this year to Barnes Park.
That was a little different, but not as bad as I thought it would be!
They always put on a good show and the kids love playing together!
I loaded up on the glow sticks and they had a ball!
We went on a little weekend getaway to the Cabin with Julia, Aust, and Olivia Harker.
Garrett had work and Ty had football, so they weren't able to join us!
But....we had fun hanging out at the lake and eating dinner for the first time at
Aunt Heidi's little restaurant up there by the store!
It was fun to have Sawyer and Sydney serving us!
We also spent the 24th up at the Cabin in Bear Lake as a family which we
love and look forward to all year!
Spencer and Steph and their family were in Lake Powell with Stephs family this year,
so we missed not having them with us!
But....we had a blast, as usual!
We spent time shooting in the foothills, playing at the beach, sitting around the fire,
playing corn hole, 4 wheeling and eating our hearts out!
This year we had some paddleboards and Kayaks Grandpa bought and that was so much fun!
We took them up to Tony Grove and had a great time there! So beautiful!
Right around the 24th we had Grandpa, Aspenn and Jada over for fireworks at our house.
Grandpa brought the Pace Bars and the boys put the show on for us!
Austy attended the Football Camp at the High School that Ty helped to run.
He enjoyed that and asked every day what time practice was!
August was fun and packed just before school started.

We were trying to soak up every last minute we could before the kids were gone all day
and their regular routines started back up.
Trav and I went to Causey to kayak and stay overnight at
Alaskan Inn for one last time away together before every weekend was spent at football!
We had so much fun just being together and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Trav got tickets for doing some work there for the Demolition Derby.
None of us had ever been to one of those and if we're being honest....we all loved it!
Hilarious!
Austy finished off the night by riding the mechanical bull.
He did pretty good for being a little guy!
We spent a weekend at Bear Lake and did the usual....
lake, 4 wheeling, camp fires, corn hole....you name it!
We also had Teagan's Baptism on the 18th,
We went to Pineview for the day with the Hamblin's and Kobe Rusch
to play in the lake, eat lunch and chill one last time!
It was a blast!
Next up was Brooks Kokkola's Farewell on the 19th,
Valerie Harker over for one last dinner before she left to Snow College,
and Ty had Zion's Camp the 14-16th.
We don't have pics of most of those events....
but it was a big summer of mission farewells for Garrett's Friends....
one of our hardest next to Brooks was Jake Godfrey.
He was Garrett's first friend when we moved here.
They played all sports together, carpooled to high school and were the best of friends.
Garrett was lucky enough to be there when Jake was set apart.
They had a hard time saying good bye!
We love these boys like they're our own.
We hit the Drive In in Riverdale just before school started
to watch Christopher Robin.
We were in the path of the Military planes for landing at Hill Airforce Base,
which made for an interesting Drive In Experience! :)
But....we had fun!
The kids even talked us into staying for the 2nd feature!
We also had a cousin sleepover the week before school started.
Julia and Millie stayed with Charly at Nate and Ally's house,
and we had Zach, Teag and Aust at our house overnight.
The boys played video games and jumped on the tramp.
The next day we got snowcones and went to the park.
The girls watched movies and played, then went to lunch the next day!
So fun to have cousins around to build memories with!
Monday Night, 2 days before school was back,
we had the Mitchell's and the Hamblin's over for Family Home Evening.
We had a BBQ and then played Corn Hole.

The winners received school supplies and lunch money!
We finished off with sitting around the fire and talking about
what each kid would do this year to make a difference!
It was a fun night!
School started back on Wednesday, Aug. 22nd.
I cannot believe we have one heading to college, one who is a Jr. in High School,
They all had a fun first day of school and are looking forward to this year.
Sherry Mitchell had all of Ty's friend group over to her house for breakfast that morning!
Ty and Caden showed up in the same shirt!
Hilarious!!
After we got all of the kids to school, Sherry invited Trav and I over
to finish off the left overs!
Of course we took her up on that offer!
Happy First Day Everyone!

Garrett started at Weber State on Monday, August 27th.
He's excited and nervous all in one!
Proud of you Garrett! Have a great first year of College!
The day before, he and I drove up to Weber State after church,
and we walked around the campus to get familiar with it, and to find his class buildings.

Football started with the Blue and White game on the 10th of August!
I will journal the football season later.....but boy....does it feel good to have football here again!
What a fun and crazy summer!
Looking forward to this school year and great things happening!
