Spring is Springing!!

It's March already......that came fast!
Track has already started for Ty, so we are in full swing on the meets!
I love watching Track.
Such a fun atmosphere!
I'll journal about Track later when the season is over!

Monday, March 12, 2018 was Julia's Piano Recital.
It is held at the Layton Library every year.
Sis did such a great job!
We are always so proud of her talents and abilities!
Ty and Garrett brought Jada and Aspenn,
and I think Sis was most excited about them being there to watch her!
Julia Played the song "Daydreams."

 Great Job Sis!

That weekend, our niece Sydney was the lead in her High School Play in Randolf.
We went up Friday night the 16th of March with Aunt Jen and her family to stay at the cabin!
We had the best time!
We snowmobiled as best as we could.....there just wasn't enough snow this year!
But we were able to get to the sinks and snowmobile a little and let the kids go sledding.

Garrett and Ty chilling and Wrestling!

Then we all got ready and took off to watch Syd play Belle in Beauty and The Beast!
HOLY COW she did an amazing job!
Fun way to end her Senior Year!

It was such a fun weekend with the family!
We need to do it more often than we do!

The very next weekend, we headed back up to the cabin for an awesome surprise!
Garrett and Ty had been wanting to ask Aspenn and Jada in a really cool way to Prom.
With it being Garrett's last High School dance, he wanted it to be awesome!
The boys knew by this point that they were going to be in the same group for Prom,
so they decided to ask the girls together.
I'd like to say this was all their idea.....
but, I'm gonna take some credit on this one!
We may have knocked it completely outta the park this round!
Both boys contacted the girls parents to ask for permission to do this,
and both sets of parents thought it sounded so fun and were totally ok with it!
The boys told the girls we were going to the cabin for the day to play in the snow!
We picked them up early on Saturday, March 24th and took off for Bear Lake.
When we got there, we had lunch and got in our snow clothes.
We snowmobiled over to the Sinks and rode around and went sledding.
It was crazy how much worse the snow was just in the week we had been there.
It was pretty rocky in some spots, which ruined a little bit of our plan!
But....we made due!
We had fun playing in the snow for a couple of hours!

After we were done playing around,
we rode back to the cabin and the kids all watched a movie in the basement,
while Trav and I put the plan in motion!
We were going to have the kids go for a night ride and come up on something fun
in the mountains, but after realizing how rocky and muddy it still was,
we had to find a spot for them just to walk to.
So, while they were watching a movie, we put dinner in the oven,
and then Trav and I went out for a walk in the dark, down the trail to find a perfect spot
to set up their "Promposal!"
We found a great little spot up the trail from the cabin.
We hung some lights, and put the balloons and flowers in the snow.
Each box had a half dozen roses in it for each girl.
We got it all set up and then we went back to the cabin
and told the kids we had just got on a walk down the trail and found a mother deer
with her babies asleep under a tree and they just had to come see it.
Lame, I know, but it was the best idea we could come up with to get them back out in the cold!
They bought it and got dressed and came with us back up the trail!
When we came up on the scene, the girls both LOVED it!
They were a little confused on who was getting asked to prom,
because we didn't have their names on the boxes!
I just figured with two boxes they'd know it was for both!
We should have put their names.
It was pretty funny for a second while they tried to process which one of them it was all for!
Ha ha!

Dinner was ready when we got back to the cabin.
We let these prom dates eat upstairs by candlelight and the rest of us ate in the basement!
It's safe to say the girls were on cloud 9!
That was such a fun way to ask and one I don't think any of them will ever forget!
Prom will be here before we know it!
We got the girls home around 1 a.m. and we were all exhausted after church the next day!

On the 30th of March Ty was invited to the U of U Jr. Elite Football day.
Trav and I went with him to this as well.
We watched the team practice and then toured the facility!
Ty was able to meet the coach after for a bit.
That was a fun day!

It will be exciting to see what takes place with Ty in the next year or so!
Hopefully he can remain healthy and strong and continue playing well,
so that maybe some exciting things will come his way!

We're heading in to the final 2 months of school!
It's hard to believe time is going so quickly!
