It's All About The Love!

I have always loved Valentine's month!
January is kindof the doldrums.
The holidays are over.
It's cold and dark.
You know.
But February......there's some excitement in the air again.
We get to find little ways to let our loved ones know we care about them.
There's always a High School Dance,
and Spring is on it's way!

Julia and Dad had a great time together at the Daddy Daughter Dance
that the Stake Primary put on for the Activity Day girls and their Dad's!
Julia was so excited to go to this with Trav!
Friday, February 9th.
Garrett and Ty were both asked to the Preference Dance,
so it was fun getting them both ready and doing the flowers for both!
This is the dance that Ty was asked to back in November.
He was asked by a real cute, sweet girl named
Brooke Hoenigman.
She left a basketball and treats on our Porch and said she
"Didn't want to miss her shot....so she was asking Ty early!"
We responded back by getting a basketball cup and filled it with basketball wrapped
chocolates and we put a Y in one, a E in one and an S in another.
We tied a basketball balloon to the cup and left her a note with them that said
something like.....
I can't wait to have a "Ball" with you at Preference!
To find my answer, look through the basketball treats!
Unfortunately, we didn't get a picture of our answer!
Thought we did, but I can't find it!

Garrett was asked by Aspenn....another real cute and sweet girl! :)
She sent him on a scavenger hunt around Syracuse and Layton.
She spoiled him rotten since this would be the last time she'd get to ask him to a dance.

She even bought him a pair of Nike's!
He was loving this and was nice enough to let us go around
on the scavenger hunt with him.
She also sent him to the school by the "S," but I can't seem to find that pic!

To answer her back, we spent over an hour, all of the family, cutting Nike Swooshes!
Garrett got her a package of Nike socks, some sprite and her favorite treats,
and we spread them all over her porch with this sign....

The Dance was held, Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018
Both of the boys had a great time on their dates!

Garrett and this boy on Ty's group date knew each other from Football.
He goes to another school, but when they came to pick up Ty....
we was so excited to see Garrett!

I had to really juggle their pictures and making it to both,
  but we succeeded!!
Ty's group took pictures up at the Chantilly Mansion in Layton about 30 mins. before Garrett's.
So.....Julia and I hurried and got pics of Ty, he and his date, and his group.....
then took off to Jensen Pond, where Trav and Austy were getting some pics of Garrett's group.
I was able to get a few more once I got there, so it all worked out!

What a fun time for all of these kids!
I love hearing about their dates when they get home for the night!
They both had a blast!
Thanks Aspenn and Brooke!

Next up.....Valentine's Day!
For my birthday this last year, Heidi Edwards gave me a Neck Warmer.
I loved it and so did the kids!
So....I knew just what I wanted to give them for Valentine's!
I went and bought fabric for each,
and whipped them up in a couple of days and had them ready!
Julia made the cutest Valentine's box this year!

Austy wanted his pic taken too! :)
Trav and I spent our "February Date" that morning together!
I had booked us a Couples Massage at Beyond Spa in Layton.
 That was so fun!

When Garrett and Ty got home from Basketball Practice they had their own little
Valentine's Surprise up their sleeves!
They stopped by Walmart on their way home and bought us each a treat.
Garrett walked in to the house in nothing but his underwear and danced around
handing each of us a little note and a treat from "Cupid!"
Oh my gosh!
We were dying laughing! So hilarious!
And.....I was so SURPRISED, I didn't get a pic of Cupid, dang it!
Austy took a little Valentine's Treat to Boston Mitchell!
He looks forward to doing that every year!

Later that night, when everyone was home,
we gave the kids their neck warmers.
They loved them!

Kinda funny.....the neck warmers didn't end up in any pics! Ha ha!
But....they were great!

Ty wanted to decorate Jada's car at the school parking lot for Valentine's Day,
but she got out of cheer practice sooner than he thought.
So, while they were inside our house, Ty asked Julia and I to decorate her car on our driveway!
She eats this up!
And...Aust had to help too!

It was a fun Valentine's at our house!
And a good excuse to tell each other we love one another!

Julia's Chinese Program was fun this year!
 - Thursday, February 15, 2018 -
She got to be in the dragon costume and was so excited!
I'm not sure how she did it, because she is the tallest in her class
and was chosen to be in the rear.
Poor thing had to bend over the entire dance that lasted 10 mins, I swear!
Her back was a little sore after that, but she did it!

Ty was invited to Utah State University's Spring Football Training Opening Day!
 - Saturday, February 24, 2018 -
Trav and I went with him and it was pretty cool!
We watched the team practice the first half of the morning.
Then we toured their facility and had lunch.
At lunch Ty introduced himself to Coach Yost, the head offensive coach.
He came and sat with us at our table and talked to us for a while.
It was fun to see he knew all about Ty.
It was a fun day!

The rest of the month was spent at Basketball games!
I cannot believe it's the end of the season already and Garrett is
almost finished with High School Sports!
