Life Happens -

Wow!  Before you know it......Time has flown by and you find yourself playing catch up again!
2015 has been busy for us so far!
Garrett is registered for High School and
hoping to get his learners permit to drive in the next little bit.
All of the kids are ready for school to be over, and I'm just trying to keep my head above water!

We have had wonderful experiences, I'd feel bad if we didn't document.....
so here I am once again....trying to remember it all!

February 12-15th
PORTLAND OREGON  - PRESIDENTS DAY
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Ty's team played for the first time in Portland - it was such a fun trip.
Because High School Basketball was still going on, they didn't offer a spot for Garrett's age group.
We left Julia and Austy home with Grandparents
and took Garrett and Ty to Portland, where it was such a long drive and a short trip.
We left on Thursday, Feb. 12th after school with the Hamblins.
They had never been to Oregon and wanted time to sight see a little.
So, we left with them and stayed that first night in LeGrande Oregon.
I called and worked us a deal on a hotel, that ended up not being much of a deal afterall.
The lady did a nice bate and switch on us at midnight when we pulled in.
Bridge felt like we were at the Bate's Motel and questioned our safety!
It seriously was a dive and also happened to be right next to the railroad tracks.
I laughed in my sleep at 2 a.m. when the train horn rattled the windows as it passed through town.
We all woke up the next morning early, and started the 5 hour drive to Multnomah Falls.
We hiked around there and the other falls down the street for most of the afternoon.

We got to our hotel later that night, got ready and went to our game,
ate a nice dinner and went to bed.
The next day, Valentine's Day - Feb. 14th - we got up and hurried to Cannon Beach,
before we needed to be back for games.
It was the coldest day there.
Rainy and just plain cold.
The beach was windy and freezing, so we didn't stay too long,
just long enough to see the beauty of it.

Brev took a little time to remember Marli.....
We left the beach and took a while to stop at the shops and get Ice Cream of all things!!
While we were there, some guy dressed as Waldo was running around dodging in and out of things!
Kinda weird, but made us laugh!

We hurried back for more games, and then we made a stop at the Nike Employee Store....
Thanks to Uncle Nate and his old hook ups there.
That night after games.....
we stopped with some of our team and families at the famous
VOODOO Doughnuts in Portland.
Doesn't matter what time of day it is.....
there is always a huge line....about an hour wait, or more.
It was a fun and crazy atmosphere....even at 11 o'clock at night.
We got our pink box of doughnuts and headed back to sleep.

Each time we travel, we always find a ward that we can attend sacrament together.
We always enjoy that.
After church, we took the Hamblin's to see the Portland Oregon Temple.
It is such a beautiful temple with gorgeous grounds right in the middle of a very nice neighborhood.
We walked through the visitors center for a few minutes and then took off for lunch.

Our team played awesome in the tournament.
It's always fun to see how we match up out of State.
We definitely found some tough competition there, and didn't advance past our
guaranteed games, but our kids sure kept up with the majority of the teams and played awesome.

Such a great group of kids with awesome families.
Proud of each of them for their talents and efforts.
This was a really fun tournament, and a great trip to enjoy Garrett and Ty.
Love them!
