Julia came to me at the first of the week and said,
"Mom, I forgot to tell you. You are playing my duet with me for my recital on Thursday!
Get in here......we need to practice bowing to the crowd!"
Thanks for the heads up sis! Ha ha!
We practiced the next couple of nights and did ok, if I do say so myself!
Cute little arrangement of "Home On The Range!"
The recital was held, Thursday, Oct. 5th at the Layton Library.
I was proud of sis!
And for the record, I quietly walked off stage and let her do all the bowing!
Julia's Piano Teacher - Michelle Yates
You are turning in to quite the pianist Sis!
We are so very proud!
That weekend, we went up to the Cabin for Conference.
Garrett and a few of his buddies went up to Idaho State for a football thing,
and then drove over to the cabin to be with us!
We watched conference and just hung out!
It was nice to relax!
Ty Metcalfe, Austin Kirkman, Wyatt Bowles, Garrett, Mikey Metcalfe, Ty, Ryker Craythorne
We spent UEA at the Cabin with Joe, Carli and their girls!
We went for hikes, rode 4 wheelers and chilled!
It was nice!
We took Austy, Boston and Sis to the Fire Station Open House.
They look forward to that every year!
We got there towards the end, so they weren't able to go for a ride
in the fire truck, but they still had fun going through the smoke trailer
and riding down the blow up slide.
Garrett and Ty took Dawson to Smith's the night of his Birthday,
and they came back with these freaky masks!
We had a little fun with them!

On the 16th we celebrated Marli's 19th Birthday!
We had the 2nd Annual Marli's Miracle 5k.
We helped get some donations for the raffle,
and our family walked the trail in her honor!
It's always incredible to me, the support they get at this,
and the love of our community!
They helped raise money for the Taylor family, whose Dad has cancer,
and also raised funds for the Marli's Miracle Scholarship
that will go to some deserving Seniors at Syracuse High School.
The High School put on a Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 23rd.
I had forgotten all about it, but Garrett called and said he was going to stick
around for it and would be home later.
I hurried and grabbed our Elephant costume
and took off for the school with Austy!
I thought he'd be so excited to dress up and go around to the kids cars.
He was anything BUT excited!
It was so funny! He felt so insecure in the Elephant costume!
Isn't he too young to worry about that???
He reluctantly got in it and went around car to car with Garrett.
By the end.....he was all smiles and happy with his candy....
that he refused to share with me! Ha ha!
Austy and Sis attended the Syracuse Elementary Skate night at Classic Skating
on the 25th and they loved every minute of it!
Skating was a little bit of a struggle for Aust, but thankfully,
Julia and Olivia were there to help him along!
When he felt like he'd had enough of that, he just rode his scooter!
One of our fun fall traditions is to attend the Syracuse City Pumpkin walk!
We've done it every year, and the last few, have been with the Hamblin's and Mitchell's!
We carved our pumpkins for FHE and got ready for Halloween.
Aspenn joined us.
It was a fun night!
I love everything about this time of year!!
Garrett had to attend a play for his theater class.
So, the two of us got tickets to Jeckyll and Hyde
at the Terrace Play House.
We had a fun date, He and I!
There were some parts of that play, we laughed out loud.....
and no one else was!
It was a little dramatic for us!
But fun to be together none-the-less.
We grabbed a bite to eat when it was all over!
(It will NOT let me turn this the right way.....so it's staying like this!)
Next up.....HALLOWEEN!
I helped with Austy's Halloween Party at school!
That is always organized chaos! Ha ha!
On Halloween Night, the Mitchells are always so awesome
to welcome us to their home
for yummy food, homemade donuts and good times!
Trav and I decided this year, we'd dress up too!
We dusted off our high school gear and went as
"40 year old has-beens!"
We thought we were funny......not sure anyone else did!
Ha ha!
Luckily Sherry had a Darth Vader costume she let Aust borrow.....
Heaven knows he wasn't getting back in that elephant one!
And Sis put on my old hospital scrubs and went as a nurse!
Ty and his friends at the Mitchells
Garrett and Aspenn popped in for a minute to get some food too!
Austy went Trick-or-treating around the Mitchell's neighborhood for a bit,
and then we took off for home where he and Trav went around here.
It was a fun night! Sugar overload for sure!!
I cannot believe the Holidays are fast approaching!
We have so many fun things planned coming up and I can't wait!!
