September is here and the weather is beautiful!
I love fall time!
We had Football every Friday night!
HEAVEN!!
But.....that will be its own journal entry down the road!
A good portion of the month consisted of wedding celebrations for our niece Shay!
Julia and I helped throw a shower for her with Aunt Ronda, Aunt Heidi,
and Grandma Hale at Aunt Ronda's home in Farmington on Saturday, Sept. 9th.
We invited Aunts/cousins from our side and Shays in laws.
It was fun to get to know some of them!
That night we had purchased tickets to the Lantern Festival in Grantsville.
I have always wanted to go to one of these, and talked Trav into this round!
Garrett and a few of his friends purchased tickets as well,
for the Homecoming Dates!
It was really fun!
We took lawn chairs and dinner and we all sat and ate and talked,
until it got dark.
They walked us through how to light our Lanterns and when they gave us the signal,
we lit them and let them go.
It was beautiful!
Some of our lanterns didn't want to go,
but to see the sight of all the Lanterns floating was really, really cool!
We loved it!
But of course, the biggest thing that happened this month was
AUSTY'S 6th BIRTHDAY!!!
How the heck is he growing up so dang fast!
I don't like it at all!
But.....he couldn't be more thrilled to be a big boy!
All he wanted for his Birthday was to invite his buddy Boston
to our Elementary School Carnival!
So, I bought Bosto an all you can do pass with Austy and they had a blast!
We went back home and had cake and ice cream and opened presents!
Happy 6th Birthday Aust!
We love you more than words can say!
Next up was Homecoming!!
Garrett's last ever Homecoming!!
I will journal about the Big Game later......but for now, the assembly and dance!
Garrett was asked to be part of the assembly.
He was a Titan God, I guess is what he was!
Austy, Trav and I were able to go watch!
He did awesome and it was fun to be there!
Lexi Stewart, Vandin Burriel, Garrett, Valerie Harker
(Mikey Metcalfe, Ty, Caden Mitchell, Wyatt Stoker)
Garrett wanted to ask Aspenn, and we were trying so hard to think of a fun way
to ask her.....before we knew it, we had the perfect plan!
Garrett is hilarious and makes us all laugh, ALL THE TIME.....
and I think Aspenn loves that about him probably the most!
So, we decorated her car, on a night when the school parking lot was SO full
and tons of people were coming and going.
The Danceline, which Aspenn is part of, was holding their Dance clinic for little girls
to teach them the dance to perform at a football game half time coming up.
We knew she'd be parked there for a while.
So, we ordered balloons, zeroxed off some funny pics of Garrett,
and set off to decorate her car!
Austy helped and had so much fun!
It was fun to sit there for a minute and watch people's reaction.
So many people stopped to see what it was all about!
The dance was held Saturday, Sept. 16th.
Garrett and his group went to SLC to an Escape Room.
They loved it and said it was so much fun!
They went to lunch and then took the girls home to get ready for the dance.
After picking the girls up, the group went to Metcalfe's back yard for pictures,
and then dinner was held at Morgan Pavement.
Staci Metcalfe helped me decorate and transform the board room!
It turned out AWESOME!!!
Trav made the meal of chicken alfredo, salad, breadsticks and dessert!
Julia and I served everyone and it was so much fun!
The kids loved having dinner there because they could all see and hear
the entire group, and could be as crazy as they wanted to,
without worrying about a restaurant!
It really was a blast and looked so good!
Afterward, they went to the dance, then back to someone's house to hang out!
I cannot believe Garrett just went to his last Homecoming ever!
Ty had to sit this one out because he's not 16 yet, but this is the only one he'll have to miss!
The next weekend was spent at Shays wedding!
I did the flowers for it, and helped set up and decorate for the reception!
It was so much fun to do and be a part of!
I'm so glad they trusted me with helping!
They were married in the Logan Temple, on Sept. 23rd.
They had their luncheon at the Blue Bird in Logan,
then the reception was held at The Copper Nickel in Ogden.
Such a cool place! I loved it there!
Shay was a beautiful bride and we hope she and Scott will always be happy!
They make a beautiful couple!
Congrats you two!!!
It was so fun to be a part of Shay's Big day!
Thanks for Trusting me you guys!
Such a fun month full of wonderful memories with our family!
