April 16-19
Tis the season for out of State Basketball tournaments!
We just got back from the Las Vegas Bigfoot Hoops Easter Showdown.
This was a trip with just us and the boys.
Austy and Sis stayed home with the help of Grandma Hale and Grandpa Randle.
These tournaments are so busy with so many games and things going on....
we felt like those 2 would be lots happier at home....
plus, who doesn't love getting spoiled by Grandparents?!!
(HUGE thank you to Gma and Gpa for their help!!!)
Trav had to go ahead of us for work in St. George....
so to keep from having 2 cars down there, Garrett, Ty and myself
all hitched rides with others on the team!
Thank you Kokkola's, Hamblin's and Whiting's for getting the Burke's safely there!
We met up with Trav in Vegas and the games began!
Thursday night Garrett and Ty both played one game and both brought home 2 big wins!
Friday Garrett's team lost and Ty's won.
Saturday, Garrett and Ty's teams both won their games.....
sending them to the Semi-finals that afternoon.
Garrett's Team lost in the Semi's by 3 points.
3 POINTS!
Ah.....that's a hard loss. We had a chance to tie it up with 1.7 seconds left.
Shot the 3, and came super close.....but didn't quite make it!
Huge bummer. They lost in the Semi's last year when we went to Vegas, so we were really hoping this round we could make it to the Championship game.
They had some tough competition and played their hearts out though!
(Coach Jason Kokkola, Ali, Garrett, Brooks, Truman, Braden, Cooper,
Brock, Jona, Coach Burke)

Ty's team won the Semi's and headed on to the Championship game
against the CAVS from California.
They pulled out a win by a 20 point Spread and took home the Championship!!!
(Coach Trent Whiting, Cole, Jake, Ty, Baylor, Dalin, Bridger, Trevyn, Jace,
Coach Burke, Coach Leonhardt)
Garrett left with another family after his game so that he could get home early and
take care of Austy and Sis and Grandpa Randle could go home......at Midnight, instead of 4 a.m.!
We are so proud of Garrett and Ty.
They are really turning in to great athletes and have been given some awesome talent....
they work hard at it and it's paying off.
It was fun spending time with just the two of them too.
The little time we have left with them before they leave us for missions is
really starting to set in for me.
I loved being with them and their friends this weekend.
They are so fun to be around and make us die laughing some times!
I'm grateful we have such good friends and families to associate with.
We had some fun going out to eat, hitting the strip (Which was SUPER surprisingly clean for the most part......large area now where you can take the kids and not see anything raunchy or disgusting and no one handing out anything awful for them either. Love that it has cleaned up.......as much as Vegas can clean up, right?), riding the NY NY rollercoaster,
and chilling at the pool.
Such a fun trip.......
Getting home at 3:30 a.m. and putting Easter out til 4:30.....not so much,
but worth it! Ha ha
Sis was ready and rearing to go to start Easter morning right around 7 a.m.
We made her sleep with us and wait til as close to 9 as she would possibly let us go.
We felt like we'd been hit by a truck!
But.....trying to be fair to her and not make her wait....
we pulled ourselves out of bed and headed down to find our baskets!
Family came around 5 p.m. for a little dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt.
The cousins love being together!
Ty spoke in Sacrament Meeting about the Savior and his Testimony of His Atonement.
He did a great job.....he cited the words from the new Church video,
"Because of Him."
Easter always makes me stop to think about all of the blessings I do have in my life,
Because of Him.
So grateful for the Atonement and the opportunity it provides to be an Eternal Family.
Heaven knows I love mine with all my heart.
Happy, Happy Easter.
