Julia FINALLY got started on her Orthodontics! She has been waiting her turn very patiently behind her brothers. She asked me all the time if it was getting closer to her turn to start! She has a very small mouth, and lots going on! Half of the teeth in her upper jaw fall behind those on the bottom, while others on the top either line up end on end with those on the bottom, or they come out over. Because all of that is happening, they had to start with her at a very young age to correct the jaw now, before it became a permanent thing.....which would require surgery. So.....they placed an expander in the top of her mouth that we turn a little crank on 3 nights a week to widen her upper jaw. Garrett had to have that as well, but not until he was older. Its crazy how with only a months time, there is already a space between her front teeth, showing how fast her jaw is opening up. Hopefully that starts to make more room for some of these permanent teeth to come down and not come in so crooked. After Christmas is over, she will then get a few braces on to straighten the teeth that are coming down in. She will have all of this on for 8 months to a year and then will need a second round of brace work when she is in 5th or 6th grade to finalize her permanent jaw and teeth. She has been very good about turning the crank and brushing that thing good! She is looking forward to getting the braces......little does she know!

Then there is Garrett......
He took an elbow to his eyebrow in the Jr. High Basketball game vs. Centerville,
and it was wide open enough that I had to take him to the IHC clinic down the road in Bountiful,
while Trav stayed back to watch and support Ty in the JV game.
Grandpa Randle's good friend Mike Deamer lives in Centerville and came to watch,
so he drove Garrett and Me over to the Dr.
Garrett was scared to death.
The last time he got stitches he had to be put in a Straight Jacket.....
so both of us were nervous about what was coming next!
Ha ha!
Piece of Cake!
They put a little numbing stuff on his eyebrow that did the job so well,
he didn't even have to have a shot, and didn't feel anything!
We were so proud Bubba! :)
3 days later, Dad and I operated on him to take the stitches out,
rather than driving to Bountiful on a Sunday afternoon!
I think that ended up being scarier for him than the whole episode at the Dr.!
We were all a little nervous watching Dad's hand quiver with tweezers and scissors!
Way to be brave Sis and Bub!
