Halloween at the Burke's house this year was very laid back.
Usually I have the kids costumes all picked out and ready to go a month in advance.
With us tightening our budget this year,
I didn't even look online.
I let Austy pick out of the costumes we have accumulated over the years,
and he chose the "Ephelant!"
Julia kept telling me she didn't even want to Trick-or-Treat.
She felt she couldn't eat any candy with her new expander and she enjoys handing out the candy more anyway, so she told me she was staying home and doing that,
instead of going out.

I was a little sad about that......she's not even 8 and she was already growing out of it!
Garrett and Ty weren't planning on dressing up.....they were going to hang with friends.
I quickly realized how much our holidays will start changing with the little ones getting older.

Just before it started getting dark and the Trick-or-Treaters were out,
Sis decided she DID want to at least dress up.
She went up stairs and came down in her ballet costume from her recital this year.
Trav gave her the idea to put a wrap around her like she was injured.
Before I knew it, the wrap was around her head and she and I were up in our bathroom drawing stitches on her face with my eyeliner.

Wow.....didn't see that one coming!
Sis spent the first hour or so, sitting on the porch handing out treats. By the end of the night....
she had Ty, Bridger Hamblin and Caden Mitchell
taking her around for some Trick-or-Treating for herself!
Boston Mitchell and Austy.....1 week difference in age!
Love these two together! They are hilarious!
They love each other until they want what the other has and then....
well, just watch out!
These two Trick-or-Treated for 20 mins or so and then Boston was done.
Austy had caught the vision and thought there wasn't anything better than
running door to door to collect candy!
He eventually came back too!
However, this year.....she asked if we could hold it at our home,
so we'd have the fire to sit around outside,
and Cindy could make doughnuts on our camp chef.

So, we did.
Cindy also brought with her a huge platter of chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-a and all the kids were in love with her by the end of the night!
We sat outside and watched one of Ty's teams football games,
and ate doughnuts and candy.
Hamblin's joined us a while later, and we all enjoyed talking around the fire.
It was a wonderful Halloween spent with family and friends!
