Ty Football 2015

Football has always been Ty's very favorite.
There is something about the nice guy in him having enough......
he's always ready to hit someone!  Ha ha!
He has been very blessed to play on such a good team, loaded with talent
and incredible coaching!
This team is special.
They have played together for 6 years.
During that time, they played 60 games.
Their record?
56 wins. 4 losses.
4 trips to the Mini-Bowl with 3 Mini-Bowl Wins!

Last year, our team suffered a great loss when
Marli Hamblin was called back to her Heavenly Father.
Her Dad is our head coach, and her brother's are our assistant Coach and Quarter Back
as well as our dear friends.
It was devastating to our entire team - kids, parents and coaching staff.
With her leaving us the week before football started,
each of the kids were determined to play for her that season.
They wore her initials on their helmets and wore teal socks in her honor.
We fell short last season. Losing in the quarter final game.
That was a hard, hard loss.

Fast forward to this year.
We came back to finish what we had started in Marli's honor last year.
Our team had a renewed conviction to make it to the Mini-Bowl this year.
Not only make it......but win it!
We all knew it would be different next year.
Many of the kids on our team are looking to play up in High School.
Coaches will leave if their son's do.
So, if we were to win the Mini-Bowl in Marli's honor......this was it.
Our boys fought and fought hard.
They played the season undefeated......and MADE IT TO THE MINI-BOWL!!
Not only did they make it......they WON IT!!!
The boys wore teal socks again, and the initials MH on their helmets, socks
and the sleeves of their jerseys.
They started each game with a chant about playing for Marli.
She was in their thoughts and in their actions and they won the Mini-Bowl in her honor.

Because the Mini-Bowl was on Halloween night,
we held a team Trunk-or-Treat at the park where the team was warming up.
Each family had their little ones dress up and we all spread out around the park and in our trunks
and let the families Trick-or-Treat, so they wouldn't have to miss out on that!
I sat on the field and cried a little, realizing our team would never be the same
after that day and that I was witnessing their last little league practice.
Where has the time gone?

(Austy and his Best Bud Boston Mitchell)

(Grandpa Randle, Gma Davies, Gma and Gpa Burke and Wyatt Muirbrook all came to support Ty!)

We played against Sky View - Their QB is Mason Falslev......one of Ty's good B-Ball buddies.
He played with us at Nationals this last summer and Ty and Mason became great friends.
They met up at the weigh-in and were so excited to see each other.
Every time one of them tackled the other in the game, they'd help each other up
and finish it off with a quick hug!  Pretty cool to watch!

 Ty and Bridger Hamblin

Wyatt Stoker, Ty, Caden Mitchell, Sam Adams, and Bridger Hamblin

Such an awesome season played with such a special purpose!
That one was for you Mar!
So proud of you Ty and the athlete and person you are becoming!
