Last year when Ty was a 9th Grader,
the High School Track team called and asked him to come up to race with them,
instead of running his 9th grade year at the Jr. High.
It was a pretty tough decision for Ty.
He felt the pressure of needing/wanting to go up, as they were wanting him for
the 4x4 team with Hunter Woodhall, an Olympian at our school.
At the same time, he wanted to stay down with his friends and hopefully
be one of the top in the District in his events.
He prayed about it, and talked to us and eventually decided he wanted to stay down
at the Jr. High level with his friends.
The High School was pretty disappointed in his decision, but understood.
He ended up having an Awesome Jr. High Season, and him staying down,
gave another Senior the opportunity to run at the High School,
so it was a good thing all the way around.
So.....this year, he was excited to be with the High School team and to
was anxious to get started and see how they would do.
Well......they had an AMAZING SEASON this year!!!
Ty, Nathan Kafusi, Scott Davies and Trevor Burrell
were our 4x4 team and they went undefeated
the ENTIRE season and took 1st in State, setting the new 6A record!
They were 1st in Region as well!
Ty also PR'd almost every race in each of his events,
finishing 5th in the state in 100m and 4th in State in the 400.
It was so fun to see Ty hang with mostly Seniors in his events!
Ty had an incredible season and made some awesome new friends!
It was so fun to watch!
